I know most resource sites have a longer list of what isn't allowed compared to what is allowed. MyRPG seeks to break the cycle of not being able to share your things.

Overall:
If your advertisement/self promotion can fit into the discussion, post it. If it doesn't fit then don't post it; instead use the dedicated advertising areas.

Most folks are not a huge fan of direct advertising, sending private messages or via discord direct messages, if it is unsolicited/random. Should you come across a user seeking something or mentioning interest via a post it is probably okay to send one. If it is totally random that's considered spam, don't.


1. Intent To Only Advertise
If your intention is purely to advertise or promote something do NOT randomly go posting or sending direct messages to folks unless they have specifically requested such.

Instead do it directly in the areas meant for that:
  • External Advertising - This board allows for all sorts of advertising if it has something to do with RP's and it also does not discriminate on software.
  • Market > Services - Here you can advertise your services.
  • Market > Requests - Respond to requests if your advertisement can possibly meet what they want.
  • Market - Post an advertisement for an item you are selling.
  • Quick Ads - (feature coming soon) Revolving adverts specifically for our members to gain attention from our front page.

2. Signatures
Signatures are a great way to shamelessly promote something each time you engage on the forum. Make use of them!

Notices:
  • No flash/strobe eye straining graphics.
  • Aim for small images, signatures that go over 300px in height will be cut off.
  • 18+ sites in signatures must use a warning tag or have 18+ on their image (we allow children here).

  2. No plagiarism or copying a site. Violations & violators will be removed immediately without warning or appeal.
  3. This site can be accessed by users as young as 13. Please keep all content suitable for ages 13 and up. References to and advertising are further below in the Advertising section.
  4. Suggestive themes, mild violence, crude humor, minimal gore, and infrequent strong language are acceptable.
  5. No pornographic content.
  6. No racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, ableist, or otherwise hateful/disrespectful speech. Violations are removed immediately without appeal.
  7. Politics/religion/controversial topics have no business seeping into this space at any time.
  8. Respect copyrights; give credit where it is due. Do not share content that isn't yours without crediting the creator (this includes ideas, photography and digital art).
  9. No spam. Advertising/promotion is only acceptable where it fits the topic.
  10. The use of AI for art, writing, or to come up with site content is not allowed.
  11. Are you or have you been an admin on a site? Are you a host? Let us know! We have an admin-only area!

  2. The Discord server is for community chatter, RP talk, and fun, with a little support sprinkled in. That said, we ask that support questions be posted on the forum primarily, answers are much easier to find there and don't get lost in the Discord scroll. If you are able to solve an issue in Discord, we ask that you post that onsite so everyone is able to find it.
  3. Before DMing anyone, check their DM status role by clicking their username. DMing someone outside their stated preference will result in a ban.
  4. Prompting the use of AI for anything other than coding help is NOT allowed. Sites that allow AI are not allowed to be posted in any way.
  5. Are you an admin or a former admin of a site? Are you a host? Let us know, we have an area that is for admins only to be able to help each other out and be supportive.
